Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) - Latin Americans from across the area held a celebration in honor of Mexican Independence day today.
It happened this afternoon at Leicht park in downtown Green Bay.
Fest-goers were able to enjoy a parade through downtown, music, horse demonstrations and of course some great food.
Organizers say today isn't just about Latin Americans and it's a great way to strengthen ties in the community.
"We are people who care about this community, this community to us means Green Bay. No Latinos, no Anglos, we are one community," Gabriel Gamboa of the Hispanic Community Council says, "and we are here to be together and work together for Green Bay."
All the proceeds from the event will help fund community news, education, and social service programs during the year.
