Appleton unveils new parking meters

Appleton, Wis.(WFRV)-- The city of Appleton has two new high-tech parking meters downtown.

Soldier Square is the test location for the machines.

Drivers can pay with dollar bills or prepaid cards. The cards can be purchased at City Hall.

No debit or credit cards are being accepted just yet, but that feature may be available in the future.

The prime attraction is convenience. City officials say it will help those who don't happen to have change for the meter.
