Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) - Fire crews from several area cities were called to battle a warehouse fire in Green Bay Thursday.
It started just after 11 a.m. on the 2300 block of Hutson street Green Bay's west side.
The Green Bay Fire Department says the fire involved a warehouse that was in the process of being turned into a new business.
There were people inside the warehouse at the time of the fire but they escaped safely.
Firefighters say they needed the extra crews because of the size of the fire.
"Ashwaubenon is here, Village of Howard is here. It's a very large structure, lots of fire to put out so we want to make sure we have enough people here to get the job done." Lieutenant Nick Craig of the Green Bay Fire Department says.
Firefighters say the fire was caused by a cutting torch.
Damage to the building is estimated at more than $350,000.
