APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - The Community First Fox Cities Marathon hits the pavement this weekend.
It takes an army of volunteers to make sure everything is in place.
More than 2300 people donate their time, stuffing goodie bags, putting up signage and helping racers.
The route is essentially the same this year, however the kids run on Friday has moved to Appleton North High School.
There is a health expo Friday night. It continues Saturday along with a 5K run/walk.
Organizers expect more than 7500 people to participate in the weekend events.
"Our numbers are looking good and I think there are a lot more people who are health minded, getting into fitness that sort of thing" says Jesse Drake, Race Operations Manager.
Drivers need to be cautions of road closures. You can take a look at the maps and get more information about the weekend events here.
