GREEN BAY, WI (WFRV) In Packer land, the events of the past 24 hours won't soon be forgotten. All because of "the call" which is being called - the "worse call" in NFL history. In fact, that "Hail Mary" from last night - has many fans still thinking "hail no" today.
From the hallowed grounds of Lambeau Field.
"If we miss the playoffs by one game, this is the game."
To the air waves of sports talk radio
"There are four plays during that entire drive that are completely bogus."
Frustrated Packers fans let off some steam, after this pass - leads to this call - by replacement refs - stripping the Packers of an apparent win.
"You need the experience," said one fan outside of Lambeau Field. "You need the guys that know what they're doing so you don't have things like this. The commissioner should be held accountable for the product that he puts on the field as far as refereeing is concerned."
While the Packer nation ached in anguish of the call and the refs.
" It's not their fault."
Sports historian, Dr. James Coates tried to make sense of it all.
"They are above their heads, that's for sure, "said Coates. "As a collective body, individually they are absolutely, major errors. But is the NFL there to help them?"
The question now is will the call bring about any change and speed the return of fulltime refs.
"This is a multi-billion dollar industry and there's absolutely no reason for this one, none."
Before another team loses on a questionable call, forcing their fans to take to the streets too.
Though some fans talked about boycotting future home games until the regular referees return, ticket brokers like Ticket King say so far, demand for seats remains steady.
