Miss America speaks at 'Power of the Purse'

Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)--Green Bay, Wis - The Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay hosted it's 8th Annual Power of the Purse luncheon on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center. The luncheon is one of two primary fundraising events for the Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay, which raises dollars to help support leadership and self-esteem initiatives for local women and girls.
This year's featured speaker was Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler, who is from Kenosha, Wisconsin and attended Carthage College for music and vocal performance. Kaeppeler's platform issue is to provide opportunities to mentor children whose parents are incarcerated. She hopes to pursue a career in childhood advocacy law.
