Milwaukee entered the night fighting for playoff contention. Any Brewer loss or St. Louis would mean elimination.
The Brewers handling what they can control Saturday night beating Houston 9-5. Marco Estrada struck out 11 batters in eight shutout innings en route to his fifth win of the season. Corey Hart accounted for two of three Brewer homeruns. Closer Livan Hernandez gave up five runs in the 9th, but it wasn't even to cost Milwaukee the game.
Facing Washington, St. Louis scored a run in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up and go into extra innings. The Nationals ended up winning 6-4 in extra innings, so the Brewers post season hopes are still alive.
