PFC Rachel Bosveld died 9-years ago this month while serving in Iraq. She was the first woman soldier in Wisconsin to die in that war.
There are countless soldiers who have made a difference during war and many did so by making the ultimate sacrifice. That was on display Saturday at Menominee Park in Oshkosh.
To honor her daughter, Mary started the Fallen Soldiers Memory Walk. Along the walk, there were also several displays honoring other soldiers. Photos of nearly 130 Wisconsin men and women who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan were on display.
Money from the walk will help pay for artificial limbs and medical expenses for soldiers that's not covered by the military.
Bosveld was also a music lover and some of the proceeds from the walk also cover music and art scholarships.
