The Green Bay Packers have activated 2010 second round draft pick, defensive end Mike Neal, and released defensive lineman Phillip Merling.
Neal was suspended for the first four games of the 2012 regular season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Merling was a free agent who was one of the suprises to make the team's 53-man roster out of training camp.
Green Bay faces the Indianapolis Colts at noon on Sunday in the first of three consecutive road games for the 2-2 Packers.
