Appleton, Wis.(WFRV)-- The remains of a US Army soldier who served in the Korean War have finally been laid to rest.

Private First Class Arthur Hopfensperger was buried this afternoon at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

In 1950, the 18-year old soldier was pronounced Missing in Action in North Korea.

Then, just two years ago, Hopfensperger's remains were found by a farmer, giving peace of mind to the family.

PFC Hopfensberger's cousin, Arthur Hopfensperger, talked to Local Five News.

"It's good to know, after all these years, just what happened because we really had no idea other than he was MIA and later on that they finally had found him."

Also today, Governor Scott Walker issued the executive order that flags were to be flown at half staff.
