Even with winter moratorium, some risk losing heat

From November 1st through April 15th, they will not shut off your power because of unpaid bills.
But there is an exception. If your power is already at risk of being disconnected, which is the case for thousands of people.
WPS and WE Energies urge customers to pay their bills before November-- to avoid being shut off during the winter
Lisa Prunty, from Wisconsin Public Service, says, "WPS just wants to make sure everybody has a safe and healthy winter season and all it takes is a phone call to talk to our customer service reps."
Energy assistance is available through federal funding.
