Starks on Turf Toe: "Like Getting Sliced with a Knife"

Among painful injuries, the turf toe is up there with a bruised lung for injuries that don't sound as bad as they really are. So what does a turf toe feel like?
"It's really hard to compare it to anything," Starks said Thursday. "Turf toe is definitely up there. Probably like you got sliced by a knife or something. It just keeps nagging you, but don't really go away. Over time it gets better.
Starks hopes that time is now. With Cedric Benson out for at least two months it will be up to Alex Green, Starks, and Brandon Saine to carry the load for the Packers on the ground.
"I have no time for competition," McCarthy said Wednesday. "We're going to take the hot hand. Alex and James both got reps, and so did Brandon Saine. The first carry will be Alex Green. He's a little farther ahead than James is right now, and that's the way we'll go. But we have three halfbacks and we'll utilize all three."
I know my job and that is to work hard and get better each day," says Starks. "I'm not really concerned how many carries I will receive, or how many carries Alex or Brandon gets. Whoever is doing well I'm going to cheer for those guys. Those are my brothers. I wish nothing but the best for them. That's how we get better as running backs."
