TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) Saturday's rain pretty much washed-out Applefest. The 29th annual event in Two Rivers didn't draw much of a crowd Saturday morning. It's normally the area Lions Club's biggest fundraiser of the year.
Some vendors didn't even show up. But organizers say we'll all see an impact on apple price at the grocery store. Because of a lack of rain earlier this year.
"I believe the prices were affected because of the shortage. Prices up and not as much variety or quantity also," says organizer Gerald Schmidt.
The group still sold some food once they moved inside. All baked goods were made with apples.
