Green Bay, Wis. - Green Bay Police are investigating an apparent suicide following a routine traffic stop.

Brown County sheriff's deputies were in the process of pulling a man in an SUV  over when he drove into the Citgo gas station parking lot on Lombardi avenue, pulled out a handgun and shot himself.

Officers say the man was being pulled over because he had several suspected warrants.

The man has not been identified and police say they're investigating why he shot himself.

Local 5 news does not normally report on suicides, but in this case we felt it was necessary because of the nature of the incident.
