Republican rally rolls into Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - As the Romney-Ryan bus pulled into the Green Bay Republican Victory Center Friday, those on board brought a message of determination.

"We're just gearing up the troops and making sure that we're ready to go," Reince Priebus, Chairman of the RNC, explained. "Working hard on the ground, going door to door, identifying voters and getting the job done. That's why we're here."

With a little over two weeks to go until election day, Priebus and Senator Ron Johnson are making a push for voters to cast their ballots early. Back in 2008, President Obama won Wisconsin by 14 points and one in five ballots cast  here were early or absentee.

"I think it's important," Se. John said. "If we can bank those votes just in case something comes up on election day, you've already got your vote cast. Then you can spend the next couple weeks simply informing Americans about what's at stake."

The republicans said their trip is not in response to Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama visiting the Wisconsin Friday, rather, another chance to rally support for Mitt Romney.

"There are going to weeks where a lot of our guys are in, there are going to be weeks were some of their people are in," said Priebus said. "So look it's a close race in Wisconsin, everyone understands it."

"The financial future of America may very well lie here in Wisconsin, in Brown County, in Green Bay, in this victory center with people you talk to," added Sen. Johnson.

The bus also made stops in Wausau, Sheboygan and West Bend.
