De Pere, Wis. (WFRV) A glittery night helped raise some much needed money for victims of domestic violence in our area.

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Golden House domestic violence shelter was held at the Swan Club last night.

About 350 people showed up to the event that featured food, wine-tasting, and auctions.

Golden House officials say they raised about $60,000 dollars last night.

Its money that will help  cover a budget shortfall.

Our very own Tom Zalaski and Millaine Wells were part of the event,  Local Five is a proud sponsor.

De Pere, Wis. (WFRV) - It was a glittering night for the Golden House Friday night.

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the domestic violence shelter was held at the Swan Club, and it  featured food, wine-tasting, and auctions with such prizes at autographed packer items, a trip to Disneyworld, and a Packer luxury suite for 20.

Golden House officials say they hope to raise more than $65,000 to cover a budget shortfall.

"Ever body in our community can help," Executive Director Karen Faulkner says. "We've had children come in with penny bags that can help, we've had elderly folks come in and drop off clothing and things that they collect from church and we have sponsors who drop off 10,000 dollar checks."

It looks like that Packers luxury box was the big prize of the night with a winning bid of $7,400.

Local 5's Millaine Wells and Tom Zalaski served as co-emcees for the evening.
