Brookfield, Wis. (WFRV) Brookfield police say 3 women and a man are dead and another 4 women were wounded in a mass shooting inside a day spa near the Brookfield Square Mall.
"I heard a girl yelling. She was yelling, the one started walking out with a paper towel over her neck because her neck was bleeding." says one bystander.
It began just after 11 a.m. when Radcliff Haughton, 45, went to salon looking for his estranged wife, Zina Haughton.
Police say Haughton started a small fire in a hallway, went on a shooting rampage that killed three women in the salon, then turned the gun on himself.
The suspects father says he is numb "I love my son, I do not approve of what he did, this was a shock to my family".
Four women, ages 22, 30, 32 and 40 were transported to Froedtert Hospital around noon. One of the is in critical condition. All four of the women are expected to survive.
When police and tactical teams were able to get inside the salon, they found the three female victims and were able to determine Haughton had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers say Zina Haughton requested a restraining order against Radcliffe Haughton earlier this month. The restraining order did specify that he was not permitted to have fire arms.
Our media partners in Milwaukee report Zina Haughton was among the three women killed. Police are not releasing the names of the deceased at this time.
The suspects father is speaking out knowing words cannot undo the tragedy. "As a father, as a Christian, I can only apologize to all the ones that he has hurt".
