"I thought our whole sideline changed after that," McCarthy said after the game.
The Packers then scored 13 unanswered points to hold on to win the rest of the way.
Ponder didn't complete a pass in the crucial third quarter, and Burnett added another red zone pick later in the quarter.
"If you can erase a team from getting points on the board that's big," said Burnett who also added seven tackles and three passes defended. "If you can steal another possession for your offense that's real big. One of our main goals as a team coming into a game is winning the turnover battle and that's what we did today."
"That bailed us out," Ryan Pickett said of Burnett's game-changing plays. "That's what a defense do; you bend but you don't break. He (Peterson) ripped off a big run, and Morgan catches a pick. He played big today, it was a big game for him. It won the game for us."
"I can't say enough about Morgan," Brad Jones said. "It's like flipping the switch. The water is running one way, then it's just running back the other way. On top of stopping them, it gives the whole team momentum."
"He gave us the boost and Morgan's playing very well," McCarthy added. "He's had big plays for us throughout the season and he's showing good veteran leadership out there."
"It's like a boxing match," Burnett said. "They are going to throw their punches and we are going to take some. But the only thing you can do is stand up and just throw punches back."
