"The snow is a little wet, nasty and heavy," says Jerry Hardtke as he plows is driveway.

You could find a snowplow running on almost every block in Green Bay on Thursday.

"It's actually shoveling pretty easily, it's wet but thankfully I just got my snowblower fixed so, we are good to go," says Andy Kirkpatrick.

The slushy mix made for slippery driving on neighborhood roads, but kids say it was perfect for building snowmen on Firemen's Hill on the West Side.

"We went sledding and then we just decided to make a snowman, then we are probably just going to go have some hot chocolate," says Brenna Strenski.

Kids sledding down the hill say the wet conditions make for a better ride.

"Because it packs down when you go down, and when you go down it a second time you go faster," says Rylie Severson.

Many kids young and old took advantage of the snow day to break out their sleds and snowboards for the first time. They say cruising down the hill is way more exciting than being in class.

"You get to have fun outside, and you don't have to sit in school all day," says Eli Shlafer.

For the adults, it'll be back to shoveling, if the snow keeps up.

"I'll probably be doing it again in the morning," says Kirkpatrick.
