Addisyn Isles was out of school, and her mother Leslie was out of options.
Every two months for about a year, little Addisyn would develop a sore throat accompanied by stomach pains and tiredness. The strep would force her to miss two to three days of school every time she had it.
Addisyn's mother brought her to Dr. Mayland, an Otolaryngologist at Aurora BayCare. After many discussions, they decided surgery was the best options.
The procedure takes about thirty minutes, followed by several hours in recovery and a week of downtime. Children typically do well and thanks to plenty of ice-cream, Addisyn was just fine.
Addisyn's surgery was August 15, 2012 and she has not had strep throat since.
