It was the annual EAA ski-plane fly-in. Pilots across the country landed in Oshkosh to show off their planes .
A Ski-plane needs snow to land on and the lack of snow at the actual aviation enter made for a lower turnout than organizers were expecting. They still had a good time though- by celebrating the birthday of EAA co-founder Audrey Poberezny.
Jim Casper, Pioneer Airport Manager says, "We've got a birthday cake. We all get together in the building...talk about old times. Around noon we cut the cake and wish Audrey a happy birthday".
Also celebrated: the 60th anniversary of the first EAA meeting that took place in January, 1953.
