GREEN BAY, Wis (WFRV) Law enforcement says they have been dealing with a lot of crash reports and people ending up in the ditch. In fact, numbers are in double digits thanks to the extremely hazardous conditions.

Plows on Highway 41 can't clear the snow fast enough.

"It's insane out here, really is hard driving," says Dan McCarthy.

Near whiteout conditions had many motorists riding their breaks as they drove through town.

"It's kindof hard to see the lights of the other cars, because it is so snowy outside," says Allaina Woodke.

"We've had a number of motor vehicle crashes, motorvehicles sliding off the roadways," says Sgt. Tim McGrath of the Wisconsin State Patrol.

State Patrol reports up to 20 accidents on US-41 and I-43 Sunday. Winnebego County confirmed 25 accidents, while Outagamie County said they had not had any as of about 8:30 p.m.

State Patrol says the number one cause of accidents in snowy conditions is speeding.

"You need to drive to what the conditions are, and if the conditions are poor, you need to drive to those conditions. So you don't need to drive at the speed limit," says Sgt. McGrath.

Woodke says, that's not a problem for her.

"I drive really slow, I'm probably one of those drivers that you don't want to be behind," says Woodke.
