BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - It's the sheer volume of snow that's causing some headaches for those trying to clean it up.
Sandy Zochert isn't waiting for the snow to stop in Green Bay. She was out Wednesday morning with her shovel.
"I'm trying to get a jump on the sidewalk," Zochert said.
The winter weather kept her home from the office, but not from work.
"I thought if I kept up with the snow as it falls, that would be my job today," she said.
It was a common thought around Green Bay, as Mother Nature blanketed the area with several inches of fresh snow.
Conditions on local highways were poor for most of the day.
"Visibility is terrible," said Trooper Les Boldt with Wisconsin State Patrol. "With the wind blowing, it's blowing the snow around creating some pretty treacherous conditions out here."
Trooper Bodlt said the State Patrol has responded to multiple accidents, but thankfully, nothing major.
"Nothing serious," he said. "but lane blockages, a lot of sliding."
It's a time when it may be best to stay in and enjoy winter in Wisconsin.
"It is beautiful right now," commented Zochert. "The temperatures are mild and it is gorgeous in this neighborhood."
