Appleton, Wis. (WFRV) Roller derby is a tough sport-- played by some pretty tough women.
The Fox Cityz Foxz Flat Track Roller Derby is in its sixth year in our area.
The average age of a Derby Girl is early 30s. But that didn't stop Mary Stastny's from lacing up and trying out for a team.
At 55 years old Mary is the oldest member in the league--- which is why her skating name is 'Ima Late Bloomer'.
'I'm glad I did it and I'm going to continue to do it as long as I can. Because it's something different. It is a great team to work with. These are great girls I skate with, they're all so positive." Said Stastny.
