APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) Across the country, millions will send flowers to their sweethearts this week for Valentine's Day - and the Better Business Bureau wants to make sure you spend your money wisely.
Nationally, the BBB has seen an increase in complaints against florists. Most are about wilting flowers or missed deliveries. Local experts urge you to ask about delivery guarantees and refund policies before you make your purchase. But if you do have problems, "They should either replace the bouquet or they should give you a discount for a future order -- something to make it right," says Susan Bach with the Wisconsin BBB.
Experts say you could save up to $20 on your order by dealing with local florists directly, instead of through national e-tailers or 800-numbers.
We'll look in to some other cost saving measures and share them with you tonight at 10.
