DE PERE - (Courtesy: SNC Athletics) - St. Norbert College won its quarterfinal series with UW-Stout in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Peters Cup Playoffs with a 3-2 win over the Blue Devils at the Cornerstone Community Center. The Green Knights won the series 2-0.

St. Norbert (21-5-1) will host a semifinal game next Saturday at the Cornerstone Community Center against College of St. Scholastica. The Green Knights improved to 53-7 at home all-time in the Peters Cup Playoffs with the two wins this weekend.

The Green Knights scored first when Reid Campbell registered his first goal of the season. Campbell's drive from the point was screened from Stout goaltender Nick Hopper, and it found the back of the net at 14:02 of the first period.

The Blue Devils (10-15-2) knotted the game at 1-1 when Mike Hartviksen scored a power-play goal at 4:23 of the second period. The Green Knights went ahead at 8:20 of the second, when Brett Bower scored his first goal of the season by finishing off a 3-on-1 breakaway opportunity. St. Norbert took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission when Cody Keefer redirected a Sam Higgins shot right out front at 14:43 for his 17th goal of the season.

Stout crawled back to within one goal with 2:05 remaining when Charles Lachance scored. The Blue Devils had the extra attacker on for the final 1:22 but couldn't force overtime.

Stout outshot St. Norbert 27-21. David Jacobson made 25 saves for the Green Knights, while Hopper made 18 saves. St. Norbert was 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Blue Devils were 1-for-3
