WISCONSIN (WFRV) - Immigration reform is a hot button issue in Washington D.C. Both democrats and republicans are searching for a clear policy.

Wisconsin lawmakers on both sides of the aisle do agree, something needs to be done to fix the country's broken policies.

"They include addressing the three legs of immigration," explained U.S. Congressman Reid Ribble. "What are we doing to secure the border? How do we reform and fix the legal mechanisms of immigration and then ultimately what do we do with those that have entered the country illegally? The variety of different plans that I have seen have a variety of different solutions for all of those."

"I find optimism in the fact that groups and advocacy organizations that are often really at odds with each other on a wide variety of issues are saying this is something we really need to tackle now," U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin said. "We have a system that's broken. We have an economy in need of a wide variety of workers and if we can get together, we can actually take care of this."

President Obama says he wants to see a bill from congress that is ready for a vote next month, or else he will deliver his own bill and demand a vote.
