GREEN BAY, Wis (WFRV) An alderman changes his vote to allow Green Bay's police chief to life outside city limits.

Two weeks ago, the City Council gave Tom Molitor a waiver on the city's residency rule.

The rule requires city department heads to live inside city limits.

The waiver passed 9-3, but Boyce changed his mind.

Monday night, the Council allowed him to switch his vote to no. The waiver still stands 8-4, but Boyce says he feels better.

"You know, everything is resolved, I feel great. I could have just kept my mouth shut, ok, but that's just the way I am, that's who I am," says Boyce.

In an earlier vote at the February 5 meeting, Alderman Boyce voted not to deny Chief Molitor a waiver to the rule. The request to deny was struck down by council 7-5 before a vote was taken to allow Molitor to take the job with the residency exemption. He did not change his vote on that request.

The chief lives in Abrhams, 18 miles outside of the city.
