Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)-- Several residents and business owners attended Wednesday's meetings to voice their concern over the highway 57 project.
Although construction won't begin until the spring of 20-18, the DOT will use the feedback they receive to improve project plans.

Andy Fulcer/Brown Co. Project Manager, DOT, "Right now the pavement condition of 57 is deteriorating we get calls on it...(00:02:47) "And also with the underground utilities they're getting passed their useful life."
The 12-million dollar project will include repaving the 3 mile strip of Highway 57 that runs between Allouez and De Pere. 14-thousand motorists drive on highway 57 each day and although the project will improve driving conditions, its likely to inconvenience hundreds of residents and hurt business for dozens of stores and restaurants.
Andy Fulcer/Brown Co. Project Manager, DOT "It would be devastating not only to our business but to our neighborhood businesses both in De Pere and Allouez. Customers need to have access to your store in order to maintain business."
One of the issues addressed at Wednesday's meeting is whether or not traffic should be reduced to one lane or detoured. While detouring drivers would speed up the construction process, business owners worry it will turn away customers.
Andy Fulcer/Brown Co. Project Manager, DOT "If we have to keep the roadway open in one direction, we can do that but the project itself will take a little longer."
Tom Marsch/True Value General Manager "At the point in time somebody might decide store X is going to be closer now because I can't go up to Riverside Drive I have o go up to Webster Ave."
AJ Frea/Owner of Mariner Supper Club "I hope this time they do fix it and when it's done it's done properly so it doesn't have to be done every 6 or 10 years."
The project could take up to a year to complete but some say the sacrifice is necessary.
