GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WFRV) An officer was injured during a standoff overnight.
It happened in the 700 block of Elmore St., on Green Bay's westside. Officers were dispatched for a call of a domestic disturbance around 11:20pm.
A 21-year-old man from Green Bay refused to come out of the residence. Instead he armed himself with several edged weapons, according to police. The male then made several suicidal comments, including committing suicide by cop, if officers tried to apprehend him.
Police negotiated with him for 1 1/2 hours by phone and armored vehicle. The man eventually came out on the porch and was tased.
The male and one officer received minor injuries in the incident.
Police are recommending charges of DVO-battery, DVO-disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct, and failure to comply with officer's attempt to take person in custody.
