GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) Crews have been hard at work at Fox Cities Stadium on a $6.2 million renovation project. When it's complete, patrons will find a new, larger main entrance. Additional concession areas and restrooms are also being added.
The stadium is almost two decades old and managers say it was time for a few changes. 400 seats are being added - including updated luxury boxes. Timber Rattlers President Rob Zerjav tells Local 5 News the goal is to create an upscale atmosphere for the park. "We're hoping with the added capacity, new amenities, we're going to have people want to see it again and hopefully break that attendance record this year."
Ticket and concession prices will not be impacted. Construction is expected to be finished by the time the Timber Rattlers arrive back on April 1st. The team starts the season on the road, but will christen the park one week later against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
