Walden signs with Colts, Jennings plays waiting game as NFL free agency begins

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: March 12, 2013

A new NFL league year began on Tuesday afternoon, with teams looking to make improvements through free agency.

The first Packer to sign elsewhere was linebacker Erik Walden, who's headed to the Indianapolis Colts.  The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported the contract was for 4-years and $16 million.  He's expected to start at outside linebacker for the Colts.

Greg Jennings, who's an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career, did an interview with ESPN on Tuesday, saying he's looking forward to the process of free agency, and that he's not going to rush into a decision.

A reunion with former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin likely won't happen for Jennings.  The Miami Dolphins, whom Philbin is now head coach of, signed former Steeler receiver Mike Wallace on Tuesday.  Wallace and Jennings were considered the top two receivers on the free agent market.
