The Nusbaum/Junkermann race saw one of the biggest voter turnouts in the state. The City of De Pere alone had 25 percent voter turnout for this race.
Nusbaum is a former Brown County Executive, and before that was Mayor of De Pere. She has been out of politics since 2003, but said she wants to be Senator for District 2 to help get Wisconsin back on the right track.
Nusbaum was celebrating Tuesday's victory at Brown County Democratic Headquarters, but says she would of rather faced Cowles today, instead of protest candidate, Otto Junkermann.
Nusbaum called the primary elections a cynical move by republicans, and a waste of tax-payer money.
Otto Junkermann received 35 percent of the vote, without spending any money on the campaign.
We did try to go to Junkermann's house tonight to get a comment, but no one answered the door.
Channel 5's Caroline Rowland has more.
