And with the game comes a big NFL celebration.
The NFL has been in town scouting locations and planning for the opening game festivities, which will include a free concert.
And if past years are any indication, it should be one pretty big show.
Dave Matthews Band and Taylor Swift kicked off the NFL season last year in New Orleans.
And the year before that Tim McGraw and the Black Eyed Peas from Pittsburgh.
So, what is in store for Green Bay on September 8th?
"The NFL's Kickoff Weekend is really controlled by the league." Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy said.
While the acts aren't known, Murphy says the concert before the September 8th game will be in the parking lot of Lambeau near the Veterans Memorial.
"I think it'll really highlight and really bring attention to the specialness of Lambeau Field and Green Bay," Murphy said.
"We know we are going to have a lot of visitors, hotel rooms are going pretty quick," Brad Toll of the Green Bay Visitor's Bureau said.
Since the concert and NFL events are free, the Green Bay Visitors Bureau expects a lot of people without tickets to come to town for the game. They guess at least 100,000 people.
"For a community our size, the economics of it is absolutely massive," Toll says.
We will just have to wait and see who will be playing.
The NFL says that they are planning a Super Bowl 45 celebration for the Packers and all of their fans.
They wouldn't say if it will be on the same scale as it has been in the past, but details will be coming soon.
