MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jay Tollefson threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as West De Pere shutout Waukesha Catholic Memorial 35-0 on Friday for the Division 3 state title.
The Phantoms (14-0) avenged a loss in last year's state title game to Reedsburg and notched their seventh shutout of the season in the process.
Tollefson, who played wide receiver and converted to quarterback at the start of this season, had 133 yards rushing and 150 yards passing.
The Phantoms defense held the Crusaders (11-3) to 156 total yards, including 97 yards on the ground.
Catholic Memorial running back Pete Karczewski, who had 248 yards rushing in the team's state semifinals win, managed only 89 yards against West De Pere.
