BRILLION, Wis. (WFRV) -- One Brillion student was hit by a vehicle as it tried to pass two buses dropping children off at a home on Hwy 10.
At about 11:49 a.m., two Brillion school buses were dropping students off at a residence east of County H.R. on Hwy 10. Both buses had red lights flashing with stop signs extended.
Three students were leaving the buses when a vehicle approaching from the rear attempted to pass both buses on the right.
One of the students was hit by the passing vehicle. When the driver realized that there were children present next to the buses, the driver attempted to stop, and hit a few mailboxes before completely stopping.
The student's injuries were minor and the mother of the student was present when the accident occurred, and said she plans to take the student to see a doctor.
Brillion police are investigating the crash and discussing potential charges with the Calumet County District Attorney's office.
No arrests have been made at this time.
