Health officials say there's good reason to be concerned about the increased number of Mosquitoes because they can spread the West Nile Virus. Mosquitoes carry the disease which can be deadly to the very young and elderly, or those with compromised immune systems. Dead birds like blue jays, crows or ravens, are the best indicator it's around. If you find one of these dead birds you're asked to bag it up, without touching it, and take it to your local health department. Testing is done free of charge.
