Five Homers Power Brewers over Reds

By: WFRVNEWS
Updated: September 16, 2011
The Milwaukee Brewers homered five times on Friday night, powering their way to a 6-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Ryan Braun homered twice for Milwaukee, pushing his home run total to 30 for the season.  That number, coupled with his 31 stolen bases, makes him a member of the exclusive "30-30" club.

Prince Fielder, George Kottaras, and Mark Kotsay also homered for the Brewers, who lowered their magic number to clinch the NL Central division to 7.  Milwaukee has a 5 1/2 game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals with 11 games left to play.

The Brewers and Reds will continue their series Saturday night at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
